Beautiful Spanish architecture inside the walls of the old city

 

 

A cool fountain and plentiful shade trees in Plaza Bolivar

 

A poverty ridden shanty town has sprouted in the shadow of Cartagena's largest historical site.

 

 

 

 

While in Cartagena, the Columbian beauty queens were having a photo shoot at the marina.

This sexy Columbian greeted us at the resort town of Rodadero. He sold cocktails and fresh fruit juces from the cart he pushed along the beach.

 

 

 

 



One of the treasures we found in Columbia were molas. These are hand sewn fabric masterpieces using a sort of reverse appliqué technique. Chrissi bought several dozen molas, and sewed them onto her designer bags. The bags sold like hotcakes, and she turned a phenomenal profit!
